Innsbruck City

Innsbruck is the capital of the Austrian state Tirol, and although it's not labeled a ski resort, it may as well be, with a funicular that takes you from the centre of town up the mountain to the base of Nordpark. It's a great place to fly straight into and base yourself giving you access to 8 world class lifted resorts in the immediate vicinity with many more not much further away. Innsbruck is surrounded by 25 holiday villages, and more than 150km of cross country trails.
